Hi Julie - thank you so much for your comments. We can all learn from watching the Olympics - being friends with an Olympian must be truly inspiring.

Nice post, Kris! You're absolutely correct - there's a lot lesson for job seekers and entrepreneurs to learn over the next few weeks in Vancouver. I'll just add this - borrowing from Jim Loehr's "The Power of Full Engagement," why is it that athletes will train/practice/prepare for 4 years for a moment that might last a few minutes (or a few seconds!) but in the workplace, we're expected to perform 100% of the time with little or no balance. So one message staring right at us here is that if we want to perform at a Gold Medal level, you have train for it! You can't just perform all the time!

Brilliant, Kris! I have the pleasure of having an Olympic gold medal winner as a friend and connections with multiple other Olympic participants in whitewater slalom. Joe Jacobi has instilled in me a respect for the process and you pinpoint it well. The Olympic spirit is something that elevates the Olympian from the crowd but they don't get there overnight. Grueling practice, intensity... makes the difference.
