Free–4-All Friday
I am actually writing this Thursday night, sitting on the couch with my youngest daughter as we share a large candle for light. During a gentle spring storm we lost power. Unfortunately this happens way too often. Edison as usual, says it will be on again sometime tomorrow.
But, while sitting here in the dim room talking and laughing like we are at a camp out by the fire, it is nice to listen to the thoughts of a 13 year old. We sit sharing a blanket on our feet with the window open, listening to the night as it darkens around us; both with notebooks in hand, half writing half talking.
I guess I am a little thankful for the power outage. Tomorrow I’ll be out of town for the day and I’ll return home to electricity, phones, kids, activities, and work. So for now I will take the quiet and enjoy my time on the couch with my daughter and the candlelight.
Hope you all have a blessed Friday and can find enjoyment even in the biggest inconveniences.
Shine On!
